Custom illustrated motifs were created for Chloe & The Steel Strings to support their visual identity across social media and print.
Inspired by a 1970s aesthetic, the goal was to develop a playful, cohesive set of icons that reflect the band’s sound, storytelling, and overall vibe.
Project Overview
This project focused on building a flexible illustration system that could be used across multiple touchpoints—from digital content to physical merchandise and promotional materials.
The motifs needed to feel expressive and recognizable while maintaining a consistent style that could grow alongside the band.
Design Approach:
The illustration style draws from 70s-inspired visuals—featuring whimsical linework, stylized shapes, and warm, nostalgic energy.
Each icon is created using clean line art filled with color, striking a balance between simplicity and personality. The motifs are intentionally versatile, allowing them to be used individually or combined into patterns and compositions.
The icon set includes:
Key, locket, and map (storytelling and journey)
Sun, moon, stars, and clouds (atmosphere and mood)
Peace sign, butterfly, and flowers (nostalgia and expression)
Guitar, music notes, and candle (music and ambiance)
Station wagon (travel and lifestyle influence)
Together, these elements create a visual language that feels cohesive, expressive, and distinctly tied to the band’s identity.
