Native Plant Sale Animation
This animated piece was created to promote Metroparks Toledo’s annual native plant sale in collaboration with the Green Ribbon Initiative partners. The goal was to design a vibrant, engaging animation that highlights the importance and beauty of native plants and pollinators in Northwest Ohio.
Project Overview
Working alongside Running Wild Media, this project focused on developing a playful, illustration-driven animation to support seasonal marketing efforts.
The animation needed to feel approachable and educational—appealing to a wide audience while clearly communicating the purpose of the plant sale and the value of native ecosystems.
Design Approach:
The animation style is bright, colorful, and textured—designed to feel lively and inviting.
Custom illustrations of native plants and flowers were paired with pollinators such as butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees to create a sense of movement and ecosystem interaction. Each element was digitally illustrated before being brought into motion through animation.
The pacing and transitions were designed to feel upbeat and engaging, helping the content perform well across marketing channels while maintaining clarity and visual interest.
Process
All illustration assets were hand-drawn digitally and then animated using Adobe After Effects, allowing for fluid movement and layered animation effects.
The collaboration with Running Wild Media ensured the final piece aligned seamlessly with the broader campaign strategy and video production.
