A Wandering Path is an autobiographical work by Anna Isabel Garrison, telling the story of one young woman’s journey through self-discovery, healing, and personal empowerment.
The goal of the cover design was to visually represent that journey—blending symbolism, nature, and softness to create something both meaningful and inviting.
Project Overview
This project focused on creating a custom illustrated book cover that reflects the emotional depth and personal nature of the story.
The design needed to feel introspective and hopeful—capturing themes of growth, direction, and transformation while standing out in an online marketplace.
Design Approach:
The cover centers around a symbolic composition: a set of hands holding a compass, representing guidance, direction, and the process of finding one’s path.
Surrounding the central imagery, pastel floral illustrations bring in elements of growth, healing, and connection to nature—reinforcing the themes of the book.
A green color palette was chosen as the foundation, evoking renewal and balance while allowing the softer floral elements to stand out.
The overall composition is designed to feel calm, reflective, and uplifting—inviting readers into the story while visually communicating its core message.
