Custom Illustrated Wine Labels

Custom Illustrated Wine Labels
The Flying Joe x Urban Pine Winery

These custom wine labels were created as part of a limited seasonal collaboration between The Flying Joe and Urban Pine Winery. The goal was to design a cohesive set of labels that felt elevated, collectible, and aligned with The Flying Joe’s art deco-inspired brand direction

Project Overview

This project focused on translating the brand’s illustration style into packaging—creating labels that feel both refined and expressive.

Each label highlights a specific flavor profile through custom illustration, turning the product into a visual experience that reflects both the beverage and the collaboration behind it.

Design Approach

The labels are rooted in art deco styling, using bold composition, symmetry, and gold framing to create a sense of structure and sophistication.

Each design features a central wine glass, surrounded by illustrated ingredients that reflect the flavor profile:

  • Pomegranate Cinnamon (Red Wine): deep tones with pomegranate and spice elements

  • White Cranberry Sangria (White Wine): lighter palette with fruit-forward, vibrant details

A consistent gold border frames each label, tying the set together while allowing the colors and ingredients to differentiate each variety.

The result is a cohesive system that feels both premium and expressive—designed to stand out on shelves and feel collectible as a limited release.
