This downtown Columbus wedding was inspired by bright colors, bold florals, and the couple’s playful personalities. Andrea & Josh wanted a wedding invitation suite that was eclectic, vibrant, and full of life—reflecting their fun, joyful celebration.
The suite also includes a special cameo: their spunky little dachshund, Jameo, featured on the bar sign alongside their signature drinks.
Project Overview
This project was focused on creating a fully custom watercolor invitation suite that extended across every paper and signage element for the wedding day. Each piece was designed to be visually cohesive while standing out with bold, colorful compositions.
The goal was to combine personalized storytelling, vibrant florals, and fun, memorable details in a way that felt elevated, cohesive, and completely unique.
Design Approach
The design approach focused on bold, eclectic, and playful watercolor florals in unique shapes and borders. Colors like blush pink, mustard yellow, navy blue, and olive green were chosen to create a vibrant, joyful palette that felt downtown and contemporary.
Each illustration was painted by hand, then adapted across the full suite to ensure cohesiveness while allowing each piece to stand out individually.
Special attention was given to personalization:
The couple’s dachshund, Jameo, features on the bar sign alongside their signature drinks.
A custom watercolor map helps guests navigate the wedding weekend, highlighting favorite Columbus locations.
The combination of vivid florals, bold color blocking, and playful details creates a suite that feels fun, festive, and truly reflective of the couple’s personalities.
